Welcome to Me Mi TiMe
In January of 2019 I took a step I had never given serious thought and started my own business in Massage/Holistic Therapy. Following qualifying at Diploma Level in Raynor Deep Tissue Therapeutic Massage Therapy at Brandon Raynor's School of Massage Training in London, I returned to Scotland with a drive, energy and passion to share my skills and help others through the use of massage as a 'tool' to heal and enhance your physical and emotional well-being.
I have not always been a Massage Therapist. My background is in Social Work and in 2012 following the completion of my degree, I moved to Edinburgh from Glasgow to start my career in the Children and Families field of the profession. I have always had an interest and passion in working with people and thrived from the rewards, challenges and relationships both personal and professional built during this period of my life. In 2016 my mind grew more unsettled, continually questioning whether I was in the right place, for me, at the time.
Following a spontaneous trip to Norway in August 2016 I returned and handed in my notice. I knew I had to take the risk and leave the security of what felt comfortable to gain further life experience and within 6 weeks I had left Edinburgh with no specific plans. From September 2016-November 2018 I travelled and worked in Greece, Asia, India and Israel. I worked in various jobs, I opened myself fully to different cultures, settings and languages and discovered the importance of connecting with people on a deeper level. I am a hiker and spinner at heart, yet I found myself drawn to more mindful practices and integrating them more into my everyday life. It was during this time that I recognised the difference these practices had on my own emotional and physical well-being. I started to feel less tense, I stopped comparing myself as much to others and I became more aware of myself as a person. I found interests in various holistic practices and completed courses in Ayurvedic Massage, 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, Master Reiki Practitioner and Vipassana Meditation. The extensive learning I gained from each individual aspect during this time was truly incredible and I remember feeling a deep sense of knowing I could use these new skills to help others- yet had no idea where to start so continued to work in people related jobs half hearted.
The end of 2018 was about change and seeking clarity. I faced a number of significant losses and moved back to Scotland unplanned. It was during this difficult period of my life that I went to London and qualified in Raynor Deep Massage. It was here that I truly experienced the incredible power Raynor Massage can have on healing the physical and emotional body as part of a range of support tools. It was a life changing course on many levels for me and I returned with the confidence, drive and vulnerability to share the tools that have supported me, with others, through starting my own business Me Mi TiMe.
In September 2019, I completed the Advanced Raynor Naturopathic course with Brandon Raynor himself. The course focused on using massage tools and advanced techniques to support the release of deep, often emotional tension held within the body. I found this deep bodywork to take me to another level of understanding how the body and mind are connected and, on a personal level, experienced this type of treatment as truly transformative. I am therefore eager to work with individuals open to experiencing Raynor Naturopathic Treatment.
